On this site, you will not find "Shopping Baskets" and "Buy Me Now" boxes, whose purpose is to entice you to complete a purchase without any human intervention. We pride ourselves on our personal attention to detail. If you are at all unsure about any aspect of our products, telephone, write or e-mail us with your query which will be answered promptly and, we hope, knowledgeably.

Delivery Costs

U.K. POSTAGE AND PACKING

 

 

For all orders to a U.K. address, please add the following to cover the cost of post and packing: Hand-knitted Ganseys £9.95 Special Delivery Machine Knitted Sweaters, or £4.95  First Class or Single packs of wool, or £3.95 Second Class Knitting Kits, or Breton Shirts If in doubt about any aspect of postage, please contact us.     If the goods are damaged in transit or believed lost please let us know promptly.  

INTERNATIONAL POSTAGE CHARGES

As the charge for postage depends on a combination of weight, mode of transport and destination, it would be impossible to offer a complete scale of all the various charges. The easiest method when ordering is to pay by credit card, in which case we can simply add the actual cost of the postage to the order. Please note that payment must be made in British Pounds Sterling (GBP). Due to high conversion charges, we cannot accept payments in other currencies. Please also be aware that local customs duties may be payable. Please indicate whether insurance is required. Unless otherwise specified, parcels travel at the customer’s risk.  

Delivery

UK only: In general, items weighing less than one kilogram are dispatched by Royal Mail First Class Post and should arrive within a matter of days. Heavier items (such as knitting kits or multiple packs of wool) are sent by second class Parcel Post which normally takes some 3 to 4 working days. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL HAND-KNITTED GANSEYS ARE SENT BY ROYAL MAIL SPECIAL DELIVERY. This service guarantees next-day delivery and requires a signature. We obtain proof of posting for every item sent, and the Royal Mail offers compensation of £20.00 should any item be lost in the post; however if you order anything other than a hand-knitted Gansey and require additional insurance please add £1.00 to the standard post & packing charge. In our experience the Royal Mail offers a fast, safe service. If in stock, all orders are dispatched within 24 hours. If not in stock we will do our best to make sure that the wait for goods is as short as possible, but in these cases please allow 28 days for delivery or longer in the case of overseas surface parcels. Please also be aware that specially ordered hand-knitted Ganseys can take from 4 to 8 weeks to have knitted.  

Exchanges

Please do take the time to measure your own garments before you order, to prevent size exchanges. We keep our costs to a minimum, to offer the best possible price, and will have to pass on the cost of return postage for exchanged items. That is, if you return an item (or items) to us for exchange, we will have to charge for the cost of sending a replacement item (or items), using the same scale of delivery charges as shown above. For this reason, please take extra care when ordering to ensure that the size requested is correct. Sizing information is available in each side-panel at right; alternatively, please do not hesitate to contact us if still unsure. If you need to return any item to us, please ensure that you at least obtain a certificate of posting.    

Returns

By placing an order with us, a contract has been formed. However, with the exception of hand-knitted Ganseys, you can cancel your contract at any time up to fourteen working days after the receipt of the goods. To do this, please e-mail or write to us. You do not have to give any reason for cancellation; however, a brief explanation will help us to improve the service we offer to customers in the future. This policy does not apply to the bespoke items (that is, hand- knitted Ganseys), which are exempt from the right to cancel. If you cancel, you must return the goods to us at your own expense. If the original payment to us was made by cheque, a refund for the actual amount of the goods themselves (not including the initial cost of postage, which is non-refundable) will be sent by cheque. If the original payment to us was made by debit or credit card, a refund for the actual amount of the goods themselves (not including the initial cost of postage, which is non-refundable) will be processed to the same debit or credit card. In all instances, the delivery charge on the initial order is non-refundable, but please also be aware of the following: If you need to return any item to us, please ensure that you at least obtain a certificate of posting. Returned goods must be unworn and in saleable condition: please ensure that the goods are packaged adequately to protect against damage, and include the original labels and packaging. If you fail to take reasonable care of the goods before they are returned to us, and this results in damage or deterioration, we may have to charge you for the reduction in value. This cancellation policy does not affect your legal rights (for example, if goods are faulty or mis-described).

Privacy Policy

This privacy policy sets out how we use and protect any information that you give when you use this website. We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. When ordering goods we require your name and address, billing address if different from delivery address, and payment details. This information enables us to process your order. This information is not shared, nor is it stored electronically apart from the preparation of accounts. This sites does not utilize "cookies".

The simplest and safest method of ordering is by telephone. We are unable to accept orders directly via the web.
